Not enabling DMA mode or using an improper IDE driver might either degrade the performance of PowerDVD or even prevent PowerDVD from properly executing. I've tried mine (while troubleshooting a DVD burn problem) in various modes, and it won't play movies worth a damn in any of the non-DMA modes.

Your CD/DVD drive should now be back in Windows Explorer and other places. However, once I fix it, iTunes becomes broken, and reports that it cannot burn CDs or DVDs because removing the UpperFilters subkey above also removes the key to the GearASPI driver, which iTunes apparently uses in its disk burning.

When I had my old 32X cdrom drive, CD to CD copys were not a problem, so I'm guessing it may be the DVD player.. How were you burning, that is, what steps did you take? There are many softwares, even free ones, that burn without errors. Suggest NTI CD/DVD Maker as it's known as Its not the discs themselves, because we have swapped discs around with the same results, and its ONLY on W2000 systems that we have the problem.
